Hey there, this is the Assessment 3 blog post!
Over the last few months doing this subject (MPI104), I have learnt more about the internet and the different way it can be used in relation to this lovely website, dearest Blogger, the place of many photos, Flickr, and the one stop bookmark shop, Delicious!!
To begin with, I mainly posted things on Blogger that directly related to me with no particular genre or theme. Now I have found my theme, it is ….. ANIMATIONS ON YOUTUBE!!!! This has become my theme because lately I have found myself only searching animations on YouTube and I felt the need to share them on my Blog page. With Blogger, I have learnt that blogging is sort of like a better less annoying way of online communication than facebook or twitter .... less interaction with those nasties from your dark, mysterious past ....
Anywho, Flickr I found was pretty cool but I don’t think I’ll use it too much because uploading Photo’s to the Internet is not something I do regularly. Although good in combination with Blogger, it’s not entirely my cup of tea.
Delicious, I feel, is a total waste of time. I don’t like it and I don’t use it. The ONLY thing I like is the way they set up tagging for you; I wish EVERYONE (as in the websites) did that!!
My Web Page (Link not working)? .... Well let’s just say that I’ll never, EVER be making one of those things again, not on Notepad at least. It was just horribly painstaking and I just wanted it to be over! I felt like “Yay, now I know how to make a cheap-o website”…. I did like my Dino theme though :D
All in all I felt as though I’ve learnt a little more about how the big bad Internet works.

The Beauty of Animation
This amazing animation that my best friend showed me.
Watching this animation stopsme in my tracks and fills my mind with every frame of this movie. The simplistic style of the characters mixed with the fantastical elements within the dance makes this a driving animation that I love to watch over and over again :D

Assesment #2
By doing this piontless exercise of creating a html website, I’ve have come to realised how crapy websites on the internet cpome into being. Although html may be the most technicaly “wordy” and simple to look at, it is also the most annoying to create and not the best tool to use when creating an eye catching, mind popping website. I found using html in Notepad slow, boring, and annoying. This was mainly due to the coupis amounts of errors that I came across, learning the language and having WAY too many other assessment on at the same time (which is extreamly STRESSFUL!!!!). I couldn’t upload my webite to the webspace amd my fonts where being a pain…..All in all, I didn’t like this assessment.
Despite all that, I managed to make a website I actually like. Themed with DINOSAURS, I believe that this website could be enjoyable to a fair amount of Dino Geeks such as I. The aspect of this website designing nonsense that I enjoyed the most was actually seeing the finished product finished and looking pretty ! I guess that in the proccess I did learn a thing or two. I feel that I’ve gained more respect for those crappy websites out there on the internet, acknowleadge all the blood, sweat and swearing that they went through when creating their useless pieces of internet scum. But I know that I wont be doing this again, not of my own will anyway!!

AIAF For The Win!!
Hey everyone! Sorry for the non postingness, uni has been one hell of a stress ball and my lacking of internet at home really dosen't help!
Moving on....
This weekend in the lovely city of Wagga Wagga, the Australian International Animation Festival (AIAF) is being held!! Am I pumped.... HEEEEEEELL YEEAAAH I AM!!! XD
This amazing festival of amazingness is sure to blow my mind, but unfortunatly it seems that not many other people have noticed it's amazingness :/
Today I went to the cinema to buy my full 3 day pass to the festival, delighted that I get to have my brain jam packed with the worlds currently most awesome short animated films for 3 days straight on the big screen for a mear $40, only to get there and realise that only 51 tickets have been sold! OUT OF 300!!! My mind was blown for all the wrong reasons. How can people not want to go to this super cool festival? I. Just. Don't. Understand.....!!!!!!!!!!!
Anywho, I'm totally pumped and I can't wait for the weekend cos I'm havin a break and going to AIAF!!!!!!!!

MPI104 Assessment #1 - Summing Up!!
Through doing this assessment and becoming more familier with the internet and joys of imersing myself in the hidden (well to me at least) goodies of the internet, I have discovered that Blogging on Blogger, posting photos on Flickr and organising digital bookmarks on Delicious is some what fun and exiting. Considering I have no internet at home, I found this assessment difficult at times. But despite that I pushed on through, laid back and began to enjoy the expiriance of the World Wide Web!
Blogger I think is the perfect tool for when people have an expiriance they want to share with the world. For exaple, when you go traveling or conduct an experiment and want the whole world to know, like in the movie "Julie and Julia" where she every day, over a period of time, Julie cooked her way through a famous cook book by Julia Childs and blogged about the expiriance everyday! But I feel like I don't have anything to contribute to my blog but pointless dribble about myself. Although I did enjoy seeing other people's blogs and let them know by making comments. These people where Delwin and Sean
Flickr is awesome! I really like flickr... Then again, I like most things with pretty pictures and amusing add on cool things. Like how you have a map in the top right hand coner where you can pin point where your photo was taken! Love it! This website couples really well with blogger in the way that you can have a "sample" photo on blogger with a link to a stack on flickr with all of your photos inside!!
I tried to post a variety of photos on flickr, ranging from my drawn art, to my digital art, to photos, videos and then other people's art that I admire. I picked out a few favoites and comented on a few photos but over all, I like this website and recomend it to people :D
Delicious, I found, came in handy more than what I originaly expected. The clever use of stacks and the whole idea of this "Bookmarking" made browsing the internet a breeze for me! I ceated two stack, an MPI104 stack and a Personal stack. I have to say, the taging system in Delicious was my favorite. Quick, easy, unforgetting tag system and I loved it :D
My first thoughts on this website where not positve. I thought is was going to be pointless and annoying, I'm glad I was wrong :)
Over all, I have enjoyed my first MPI104 assessment and will continue to use these sights to upload my life!
Thalia out :)

Movie Review - How To Train Your Dragon
This Dreamworks, Animated feature film has got to be one of my favorite 3D animated movies! The humor, the Vikings, the dragons, the animation, the Vikings, the dr- oh Thor almightly there is just TOO many things awesome about this movie!!
Frist of all, I'd like to start off by saying that the way Hiccup is animated, coupled with the voice acting of Jay Baruchel creates the perfect balence of awkwardness and humor that make me love this character. My favorite part has got to be when he's impersonation his farther saying "Excuse me, barmaid! I belive you've bought me the wrong off spring! I ordered a beefy boy with extra guts and glory on the side! This? This is a talking FISHBONE!".......HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahah!!!!!! I love it :D
Continuing on from characters, the dragon Toothless was AMAZING! The lead animator on this panther like dragon actully modeled the dragons movments form his cat! When I was watching the bonus features for this movie and heard this, I was like "I KNEW IT!!!" :D
During this movie, Dreamworks Animations try out a new effect with cloud textures for their flight sequences... did you notice? Well I certainly noticed how nice and light and fluffy those clouds were! I felt like diving into the movie and swiming in those clouds!!
Based on this movie's look, story line and characters... I give this movie a BIG thumbs up and a 10/10 rating with a 'MUST SEE' lable stamped on it :D
Happy movie watching!!

A Favorite Past Time - Art
Me? Well I love art. I love to draw and I have been drawing for many, MANY years. Blob men that share some similarities with miss shapen vegitables, have evolved into detailed sketches that raidiate pride from their maker.
When I draw, I usually draw from inspiration. Most of my works have some sort of influence on the movie that I've just been watching, or a peice of art that I've grown particually fond of, or any number of things to be honest :)
A couple of years ago I started up a deviantART account where I put a few of my works up for people to see. Unfortunatly I haven't been persistant with my uploads, but I feel like I want to get back into it, upload some of my latest and coolest stuff!!
Here are some pictures from my deviantART account :D

Animating The Inanimate - A Walk Cycle's Adventure
Alrightly everybody, so.... In my Amimation and Visual Effects course at uni, my first assessment is a walk cycle. 10 seconds of pure hand drawn, animated goodness with a side of HD and footstep sounds! Naturally I started off REALLY exited about makeing my little guy bob up and down, taking his first steps.... I was such a proud "mother".
But the stress became stronger and the time in which I had to handed it in became shorter and soon I was onto my second version of the walk cycle...
I sat at the kitchen table and fought loong and hard for this basic sketch... Along with 13 of it's bretheren. All of them together make a some what smooth cycle, but alas, it was far from finished. I soon found an enemy in the animating of the arms. Their annoying subtleness and pain-in-the-butt-to-draw-ness... *sigh*
A CHARACTER IS WHAT I NEED!!!!
Toilet Door Man ACTIVATE!!!!
...
...
...
Or so I thought...
Now I have a man with no arms and no neck walking along, waiting to be completed...
TO BE CONTINUED o.O

Harry Potter The Exhibition and Me
On the weekend (Saturday the 17th to be exact), I went to the Harry Potter Exhibition at the Power House in Sydeny!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!
For all you Harry Potter loving fans out there, You would have a better understanding at my utter exhileration at standing mere inches from authentic props, costumes and life sized modles used through out the Harry Potter series!!!!
My breath was taken away time, after time, AFTER TIME as I darted through this fabulous exhibition. Although, amoungst picking up mandraks that squealed at you, throwing the quaffle around, being at arms lenght from the old Dumbledore's robes and remarking on how small the four poster beds used in the firdt two movies are, I would have to say that my favorite part was the Forbiden Forrest section! This section housed everything from horcruxes to death eater masks and costumes and even a life sized head of the Hungarian Horntail!!!! I literaly SQUEALED WITH JOY when I saw the massive dementor looming over pasing guests as the hidden fan made it's cloak flitter on a non existant breeze!! I just HAD to grab my little sister and say "DEMENTOR DEMENTOR" whilts pointing at the ominus figure :D
Rating for this exhibition? 10/10!!
The gift store at the end however was seriously expensive with Marauders Maps Going to $50! But none the less, I got a packet of berti botts every flavour beans and a Griffindor pen and was happy enough :)
Anywho, that was my Potter expiriance and I'm thrilled I had it!!
See you round :D
